I am so excited to share this project with you! I designed a versatile wrap-around journal folio that you will love. It's a great as a gift, though once you make it, you're going to want to keep it for yourself, so you should consider making two!
As a Kraft-tex Ambassador, I will be bringing you a new monthly project, each featuring one of their new 2020 colors. The color for March is denim, and it's beautiful. It reminds me of all the blue jeans worn in the '70s with brighly colored embellishments. I wanted to replicate that idea when I created this Wrap-Around Journal Folio.
Kraft-tex is a perfect medium. It's like paper; it's like fabric; it looks like leather. You can sew it, wash it, iron it, die cut it, and paint on it! It is lightweight, and that makes it a perfect choice for this project. Let's take a look inside:
There is a pocket on the left, a tuck pocket in the center (currently holding a standard journal insert), and a clear pocket on the right (currently holding a bookmarker and a llama tag).
To make this project, you will want four pieces of Kraft-tex:
Cover: 8 3/4" by 13 1/2"
Pocket one: 8 3/4" by 3 1/2"
Pocket two: 8 3/4" by 3 7/8"
Flap liner: 8 3/4" by 3 7/8"
In addition, cut one card stock template, also at 8 3/4" by 3 7/8"
On the template, score on the short side at 1/4", 1 3/8", and 3 3/8"
Rotate the template one quarter turn to the right, and score the 1/4" line at 4 3/8". Score the whole card at 1 1/4" and 7 1/4". You will need this to help you cut out the large rectangle in the center as a template.
